Pure Raw Silk Fabric
Silk containing sericin is called raw silk. The fabric is traditionally and culturally woven on manually operated looms. Sericin is the gummy substance, affording protection during processing, that is usually retained until the yarn or fabric stage and is removed by boiling the silk in soap and water, leaving it soft and lustrous. Raw silk is typically a short-fibre silk recycled from spinning silk. In the production of mulberry silk, only a certain middle section of the cocoon can be unreeled for spinning silk. The waste silk is the raw silk, and it has a smooth feel with some bumps and a slight luster.
Pure raw silk fabric is a luxurious, natural textile crafted from unrefined silk fibers, known for its rich texture, subtle sheen, and organic appeal. This premium fabric offers excellent breathability, durability, and a slightly coarse, elegant finish that enhances both traditional and contemporary designs. Ideal for high-end fashion, ethnic wear, upholstery, and home décor, raw silk fabric provides timeless beauty, comfort, and long-lasting performance.
